Justin Reed is Lliterally Ready to Roll

In local news, last week ex-NBA player Justin Reed was arrested in Jackson,Ms. What was only suppose to be a routine seat belt traffic stop, landed former Celtics basketball player Justin Reed in jail possibly facing marijuana charges and up to 30 years in prison.The Clarion Ledger is reporting that the police confiscated over twenty six thousand in cash and a kilo of marijuana  all this shown under is what they found.



Get it ready to roll?, anywho I'm sure Justin will have a lot of free time on his hands in the pen, maybe he can get a year deal like T.I or Lil Wayne and get out and make a come back like Michael Vick!nahh I doubt it!

So last week during the Bachlor on ABC, the show Dancing With The Stars announced it new contestants... lets just say this season should be intresting.    Wassup Tea' lover's you know I always try to bring you nothing but premiere entertainment news, however  since I've been interning with the night show I gather all sorts of news. Last week there were several different things that caught my attention in the media locally and nationally , lets begin wit the Scott Sisters.

     

Too Overweight for Kidney Transplant

After overcoming sixteen years in prison for 11 dollars, the Scott sisters Gladys and Jamie were released in early January this year, on the account that one donate a kidney to the other. WAPT reports that the sisters must lose at least 160 pounds combined. There has been no word from Governor Haley Barbour who made the deal with the sister, on what he will do if the transplant does not take place.I guess we'll all just have to wait and see.

The Holmes Community College Hoax?



A possible prank call launched a massive police respond, after a woman called police saying she had seen a man with a gun tucked into his belt in a college building at Holmes community college.The college was surrounded and put on immediate lock down. However police could not find a gunman or the woman who called to report it!!All I can say is we all know the story of "the little boy who cried wolf"...it not cool to play about such a serious matter.

The original playboy himself, Hugh Hefner and fiance' Crystal Harris hit up CNN to announce their engagement and wedding date.The wedding will be held June 18,2011 at the playboy mansion. Among those who were not invited, Holly Madison says "I feel like the attention should be on them. It shouldn’t be about ex-girlfriends showing up and what are their reactions and stuff like that. I think it should be about them.”

Things That Grind My Gears!

What's wrong with with this ad? Could it be the fact that, thatsabortion.com decided to embarrass the entire African American race. I love how they try to pretend as if black women are the only women who get abortions.If you check the stats other races participate in pro-choice, maybe not as often but it does happen. Instead of making judgements and throwing insults how about we try to figure out why some women feel as though abortion is the only way.How about we offer more prevention and counseling services so that every one has access to contraceptives!

We’ve got a lot to catch up on, what can I say there has been a lot going on.. I missed blogging last week because I was stuck on a 16 hour train ride to Chicago. But have no fear I have all the Tea’.

Ciara’s Been Dropped

Media Take Out reported that Ciara was about to be dropped from her Jive record label. They say we can expect to see more on this topic in the weeks to come, but Media Take Out can be a little sketchy sometimes so I’ll keep you posted. In addition Ci-Ci was looking fabulous at the Grammy's so I’m sure someone will pick her up.  

Fannie’s hitting The Big Screen

In other R&B news, my favorite American Idol Fantasia is set to play the legendary Mahalia Jackson, who died at the age of 60. Fantasia is reportedly gaining 30 to 40 pounds to portray Jackson in the movie. The film goes into production in April set for a December release.

Drake& Young Money

In Young Money News, supposedly Drake is trying to go over to the Roc-Nation label with Jay-Z. According to a Young Money member (whom MTO did not disclose) “Drake likes making music with Lil Wayne and the rest but he’s a different dude. The source went on to explain that there are a lot of hood things that go on at Young Money records, and that Drake is not a hood dude and wants to be away from that um-huh yea ok! Don’t let me forget that Drake’s mother is also worried and doesn’t want him around drugs and gangs. Umm INTERESTING! I bet she wasn’t worried about that when he signed his million dollar contract with Young Money!! Heyyy I’m just saying L.O.E loyalty over everything!  After the reports hit the net that Drake might leave Y.M he took to his Twitter to assure his fans that he was Young Money for life…yeah yeah we’ll just have to see.

Drama With The Basketball Wives

I really hate talking about this show but people like it, so let me spill the Tea’.  Apparently there has been growing Tension between “Basketball Wives” Shaunie O’Neal and Royce Reed, who isn’t even a Basketball wife…I don’t think she’s ever been a Basketball fiancé but that’s an entirely different subject. Any who Shaunie’s younger boyfriend  Marlon was allegedly trying to get with Royce. An insider of the show said “they would text each other, and Marlon brought  her stuff including an expensive pair of shoes. According to the insider Marlon may have used Shaunie’s money to purchase the gifts! All I can say is …#AMESS!

New Internship- Same Place Good Ol' 97.7 Fm

    So last week I was misinformed, although I gave The Tea' a nice new look, Dr.Fridge wanted the Blog for MC409 to be through wordpress.com soo The Tea' is back with its same witty,funny entertainment news like never before,plus this semester not only will I be interning with Tambra Cherie but Mista Maine"The Main Event" on the night show as well!
    In other words this semester should be interesting Mista always has something up his sleeve so I'm sure I'll have all sorts of details about our live remotes.Today was actually my first night with the night show and I can say it was very off the chains. Its crazy because when you put people with two opposing political stances in the same room.... well lets just say it makes for a great debate!
     I will also keep you informed with all the entertainment Tea'.as well as video from some of the shows this spring! My goal for The Tea' this semester is to add video and possibly incorporate ustream so that readers can be interactive with me live from my internship!!

Hello Tea' lovers... F.Y.I. in radio stations, when a young intern is sick with the flu they are not allowed into the radio station! lol.Sounds crazy?? IKR!! (I Know Right) No but seriously last week I was very under the weather, and was advised by my intern supervisor not to come into the station until I was better! No need to get all up tight, when people need their voice to maintain their lively hood, it's understandable why they wouldn't want someone around constantly sneezing and coughing!  But I'm better now so lets get straight to the TEA'.

I haven't had the pleasure of seeing the movie, but I have seen the stage play and in my opinion because of the all star cast and phenomenal director Tyler Perry it's a must see!!!

Rock The Vote

As we all know, last week was the primary elections!! Unfortunately we "the democrats" did not win the House of representatives like we'd hoped and barely took the majority in the Senate. Some say that this is the end for my President!!"Obama" but to them I simply say "HI Haters" if President Bush can get a full eight years to screw up our country, then I think Obama should be allotted more time to clean up this mess that the "Bush administration" has created,CUT THE MAN A LITTLE SLACK!!! Just because he is the "face" of the country doesn't mean  he should be held liable for everything that's going wrong with our country.Maybe if more people voted last week, then the "CHANGE" that President Obama is endorsing can take affect!! Get with it or get lost! We "the entire United States" need to stop worrying about personal agendas, and start working to better the country for the majority (middle class families, and less fortunate families) instead of working to make the rich richer and the poor poorer!..Heyy..imjussayin!....Enough of that, lets not get into politics, this is all about the Tea'!

Trouble In Gucci Land

 



Gucci Mane was reportedly arrested on November 2nd. According towww.theybf.com and the Atlanta Police Department,Gucci has been charged with driving on the wrong side of the road,running a red light/stop sign, damage of government property, obstruction, no license, no proof of insurance and other traffic charges.

The police had to use pepper spray to subdue the artist who government name is Rodrick Davis, after the police reportedly asked Davis to step away from his passenger who he was  having an altercation with. All I can say is WTF GUCCI??!!! See I don't want to be  bias (because of my UN changing love for Jeezy lol)but this is just STUPID!!

No More Drama For Mario (Or So We Hope)

R&B singer Mario's mother dropped all charges against the singer! Shawntia Hardaway an open drug addict  filed a lawsuit against her own son back in September,who's real name is Mario Dewar Barrett. Apparently she is now changing her story. According to NY Daily News..

"Shawntia Hardaway was intoxicated when she told police her son, whose real name is Mario Dewar Barrett, had pushed her, causing "minor pain," according to police reports. Hardaway's attorney, Richard Woods, said she was simply upset when she filed the report."

Mario released a statement saying.."I'm glad to be finally vindicated.  I want to thank everyone who believed in me. I will continue to love and support my mother."

Last week the Tigers got "it in" as Homecoming week jumped off with a little holy ghost....Interfaith Gospel Choir ordained the homecoming week long celebration ,with a praise party!

Insatiable modeling squad along with students from Jim Hill High School(a local school here in Jackson) let the catwalk have IT! Monday night approximately 300 people attended the glamorous event! As reported by the JSU FLASH  The "Body is Beautiful" fashion show was held in the Rose Emily McCoy Auditorium.


Not alot going on in entertainment news last week, but trust me I'll highlight all the JUICY stuff lol....getting right too it! T.I is sentenced to ll months in an Arkansas Federal Prison. The state of California gave him a break and won't charge him with the drug possession charges from earlier this month(see what money will get you 2nd ,3rd,maybe even 4th chances..excluding OJ lol) TIP was ordered to turn himself in today.....Good luck DUMMY!

Next!! WRBJ 97.7 FM was in the spirits if homecoming as they hosted the annual "Top of The City Tuesdays; a JSU alumnus affair" guest were greeted by YOURS truly, along with the Fabulous Tambra Cherie,and the calm and cool Kwasi Kwa! DJ Unpredictable was the master of ceremonies. The JSU Cheerleaders helped kick the social mixer off with a couple of cheers!...Fun times indeed!


In baby bump news Mariah Carey announced that her and Nick Cannon are expecting a child due in the spring, but who didn't already know that? She also did an all exclusive 3 part interview with "Access Hollywood" host BIlly Bush...aww a little bundle of joy! I wonder what she having? I'm sure we'll all know soon plus she's all set to promote her new Christmas CD Merry Christmas II You, talking bout a working mama.She hasn't sat down yet, but I don't blame her!(make yo paper boo boo in my Katt Williams voice)

Back To The Tigers

But thats all the entertainment Tea' for now, it's all about One Tiger Nation Under A Groove! Tambra Cherie and I hit the streets all day long! We started at the new campus apartments on the JSU campus from 10:30 til 1p.m One University Place hosted an open house,I cant lie they are nice!! You have to see it for youself!! If you didnt know every year on the friday before Homecoming a big celebration is held on the "Yard" alumnus and all greek and students alike get together and celebrate with food, vendors,and music! The highlight of my day was watching the "Sonic Boom" march down the Yard as the Drum Majors got the crowd hype with their famous moves..i was impressed lol!

 Next we were off to the "Day Party" at Freelons. We were there from 1:30 til 3:00 p.m. The party was going all day long! Not to mention we blew Prairie View A&M out 34-3, so I'd say it was a good week to be a Tiger!
